Spring forward at the Swiss Jura Knit & Fibre Retreat

March 20th is the first day of Spring in 2020 in the Northern Hemisphere

and also the first day of the Swiss Jura Knit & Fibre Retreat!

Who knows what the weather may be like - here is the Hotel in snowy conditions

Or we may have fine weather as we did (unexpectedly) at the end of September Retreat in 2019.

I visited the hotel this weekend past to finalize the details and review the current guest list to ensure that I, and the hotel give each and every guest the best experience possible.

We took the train from La Chaux-de-Fonds rail station to La Chaux-d'Abel station a short journey of less than fifteen minutes. I was joined by my husband, his niece and her family. We combined the visit with a hike after lunch but first we walked up from the station to the hotel, a short walk of about 20 minute through pastures. As always, lunch didn't disappoint - we ordered the cheese and sausage plate and an enormous green salad. The kids (small and big were really looking forward to the desserts - the dessert menu was about as long as the food menu! My niece's husband was kind enough to take some photos - see below. On our way down we walked to Renan via La Puce - and met a beautiful horse that is native to the Jura - definitely had her winter coat on!

It was a lovely day out and I believe that everything is in place to make the Spring Retreat the best ever.

Please note SNOW IS NOT GUARANTEED!

All the details about the Retreat and the Pop Up Yarn market can be found under the relevant Tab on this site. If there is information you cannot find then please contact me direct either here using the "Get in touch" button or by emailing direct to info@towsertextileart.com

Check out the Gallery tab to see photos from the last retreat that was held in September 2019 to see what the hotel looks like when it is taken over by yarny folk.

Take care and please spread the word - places are still left at the beautiful and welcoming Hotel de la Chaux d"Abel, we'd love to see you there!

All the best,

Yvonne
